Challenges.

Things business owners have said to me.

Growth

You get to a plateau and you kind of get stuck.

Growth has flattened and I don’t have full conviction on why.

I have ideas for growth, but the daily grind just eats all my time and energy.

I’m not sure what to do with my time to best benefit the growth of the business.

I’d like to continue growing the company, but I’m just unsure how to get over the next hump.

Founder Bottleneck

I want a double me. I want a clone.

If I’m not here, the whole operation stalls.

I’ve hired out 90% of the tasks I used to do. But now what?

Clients want me, they don’t want to work with someone on my team.

I find myself sitting and waiting for something to happen that I can “fix”.

Control

I go into the detail. Micromanaging would be a step up. It’s almost nano- management.

I’ve tried to delegate or employ a manager, just to be disappointed and sucked back into the day-to-day.

I’ve always been the brain behind it, and so that’s the part I’m having a hard time handing over.

I want to know what’s going on. I want to know how it’s done. I just want to have a say in it.

The Cost

I feel that I don’t have time even for my partner. It’s like that’s no life.

There are only so many hours in the day before I’m burnt out, or I start to deliver at less quality because I’m so stretched thin.

I spend my time at home thinking about work and my time at work thinking about home.

You can start to see the cracks forming and think, this is just not where I want to be.

If I’m not worrying about work, then it’s my staff or my cash flow or some other minutiae that really shouldn’t be foremost on my mind when I’m trying to relax with the family.
